- The European Parliament adopted by 403 votes to 58, with 69 abstentions, a legislative resolution on the proposal for a Council decision on the application of the provisions of the Schengen acquis relating to the Schengen Information System in the Republic of Cyprus.Parliament approved the Commission's proposal.The proposal aims to enable the Council to set the date from which the Schengen acquis relating to the Schengen Information System will apply to Cyprus.The entry into force of the proposed Decision should allow for Schengen Information System data to be transferred to Cyprus.
