- The European Parliament adopted by 421 votes to 120, with 108 abstentions, a resolution on human rights and democracy in the world and the European Union’s policy on the matter – annual report 2025.Parliament stressed that the effective respect for and protection of human rights and freedoms must be the cornerstone of the EU's external policy .
